This is my simple, no-glue routine for installing a glueless wig. I keep it quick and easy using just a few essentials, focusing on a secure fit and a natural look without the mess. With the right prep, a wig grip cap, and a little blending, the whole process becomes effortless and beginner-friendly.

If you know me, you already know I like to keep things simple. I’m not about to be dealing with glue, mess, or anything extra. I want my wig to look good, feel secure, and still be easy to take off at the end of the day.

So if you’ve been wondering how I get my wigs looking natural using just a few products, this is exactly what I do.

What I Use

I keep it real simple. This is all I use:

Glueless wig with an adjustable band
Wig grip cap (yes, I sell these on my website 👀)
Lace tint
Spray or makeup to match my skin

That’s it. No glue, no gel, nothing complicated.

Shop My Wig Grip Cap

If you want your wig to stay secure without using glue, this is honestly the main thing that makes the difference for me.

Step 1: Prep My Natural Hair

This part is easy for me because I have a short pixie cut.

I don’t have to braid my hair or do anything extra. I just make sure it’s flat, neat, and out of the way.

Now if you have longer or thicker hair, you’re going to want to braid it down or slick it back into something flat. The goal is just to make sure your wig lays smoothly and not bulky.

Step 2: Put On My Wig Grip Cap

This is really what holds everything together for me.

I put on my wig grip cap, adjust it so it sits right at my hairline, and make sure it feels secure but still comfortable.

This is honestly the reason I don’t need glue. It keeps the wig from sliding and just makes everything easier.

And yes, if you need one, I have them on my website.

Step 3: Prep and Style the Wig on a Dome Head

Before the wig even touches my head, I like to style it first.

I put it on a dome head and do everything there. Parting, straightening, curling, whatever I’m going for.

I prefer this way because I can actually see what I’m doing and take my time without struggling in the mirror.

Step 4: Cut the Lace

After I finish styling, I cut the lace.

I use zigzag scissors because it gives a more natural look instead of that straight line across your forehead.

You can find those pretty easily on Amazon.

Step 5: Tint the Lace

Next, I tint the lace so it matches my skin.

I just apply the lace tint and let it dry. This step really helps everything blend better once the wig is on.

Step 6: Put the Wig On

Now I actually install it.

I place it on from front to back, line it up with my hairline, and adjust the band so it fits snug.

Since all my wigs have adjustable bands, that’s really what keeps everything secure.

Step 7: Blend Everything In

Last step, I blend the lace.

I use a little spray or makeup and match it to my skin so everything melts together.

This is what gives that natural look where it doesn’t even look like a wig.

Final Thoughts

This is my go to method every time because it’s quick, easy, and I don’t have to deal with glue at all.

Having a wig grip cap and styling the wig before putting it on makes the biggest difference for me.

Once you get used to doing it this way, it becomes second nature.

Simple, clean, and always giving.
